It was a dark and stormy day. Much better than the more familiar Nevada summer.
Putting some of that vastness to good use.

This gate was not on our maps. Had we been unable to open it we didn't have enough gas to get back to civilization. There are wire cutters in my tool box but I didnt' want to have to use them.

Now we're getting serious! It really was that steep but it was actually much easier than it looks. The traction on slickrock is amazing.
You can always go down. The trick is to stay in control as you do :-)

After getting up at 4:30am we decided the rest of the day would be easy stuff. This is Green River Overlook.
